Alessandra DeBlasio runs a highly regarded solo litigation practice in New York City focusing on federal criminal trials and appeals. She has more than twenty-five years of experience as a litigator, in both the public and private sectors, handling criminal and civil matters.

Ms. DeBlasio began her career at the U.S. Department of Justice, where she played a major role in the initial phase of the criminal prosecution of Zacarias Moussaoui – the would-be “20th hijacker” in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon – which prosecution resulted in the sole conviction in a U.S. civilian courtroom for the 9/11 atrocities.

Ms. DeBlasio also played a notable diplomatic role while at the Department of Justice, representing the United States at multilateral treaty negotiations in 1998 establishing the International Criminal Court, as well as at separate bilateral treaty negotiations with France and Paraguay. She is conversant in French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.
